The Future Is Mobile
Yeah, yeah , broken promises for years now, but I really believe that we are on the cusp of the mobile era. Small screen factor has always been noted as a major stumbling block:
Very clever.
[Do you think I can find the link to the site I found this on? Grrr]
Interesting idea, but can you imagine the pain of reading a blog with a wide column of text? Back and forth, back and forth…

It’s the COST is the problem right now for me. My phone can do all kinds of things that I would use it for, except that I’ll be billed a zillion euros for the privilege.
I believe flat rate 3G is on the way, but they’d want to get a move on!

The operators are really dragging their heals all right, but they are being forced to move because they fear disruptive technologies will hurt their businesses.
Of course Ireland being Ireland we’ll be ripped off for countless years to come while the rest of the world happily eats through mobile bandwidth for next to nothing. I’m keeping an eye on wifi/wimax to enter the space also.
And of course, I still have my sneaky suspicion that the search engines may one day become direct competitors to the operators. Just a hunch, and I’m sure I’ll be completely wrong….

Re: WiFi/WiMax… Indeed… I’ve been meaning to catch up with Pat Phelan about what he has up his sleeve… have you been talking to him?
