Seeing sites rank on nothing more than a link from their web designer
Seems authority doesn't matter. The flip side to this is that new sites should be ranking more easily since they have no negative markers (yet).
Again, this tells me that Google's long term plan is to remove SEO from the equation. I don't think this is about search quality at all.
