Was a good read and some interesting points, but for me, it's never bothered me with good/bad payment forms, I might ask a few people their thoughts.

I read a great blog post recently by someone like Etsy/Mailchimp/ where they were testing new styles of payment forms. Their latest one detects the credit card type based on the number and the background of the payment panel form fields updates to show a Visa credit card as an example.
