But I should point out, that If I narrow down to the stream which circle you are in, it's still there.
But the other person who linked to the article has also gone from the main stream.

One would have to be quite naive to think that Google cannot easily detect wild-card sub-domains, and more so to assume that such duplication will cause any negative ranking issues !
