Am I Still Alive?
Yep… Just about.
So just in case you’re one of my 4 RSS subscribers (no one actually visits here any more) here’s an update, in no particular order, on the madness that is my SEO life:
- I’ll be speaking at the Search Marketing World 2008. Although you wouldn’t know it, I’m actually speaking on the Blogs and Search panel.
- This Saturday, February 9, we’re having the first Webmaster and SEO Meetup. The venue is The Harbour Master in Dublin’s IFSC. Should be a great night, and I hope the turnout is going to be fantastic. Starting at around 7.30PM.
- I can no longer crib about the Google Geo-Targeting Tool being out of order. It’s finally kicked in and the site now ranks well in every ‘pages from’ Google index it was registered for. Cool. Very Cool.
- Considering the complete lack of activity on my blog I’m quite pleasantly stunned that I’ve been nominated in two categories for this year’s Blog Awards. I certainly don’t deserve either nomination, but thank you to whomever put me up.
- And finally… you’re not a real blogger until someone threatens to sue you. So I’ve finally arrived. The letter arrived just this week. About bloody time – I cant let this guy have all the fun
If you can make it along this Saturday to the MeetUp please do – it’s going to be a great night. I’m looking forward to meeting all the folk who come along.
What happened this line? It showed up on the “home” screen of my google reader but not on the post page in reader.
Anyway well done on the nominations, will see you on saturday. At least you know someone still stops by
Must see if I can get someone to pay for me to go to Search Marketing World 2008

I’m reading mate!
Nice to see the geolocation tool working as it’s supposed to – that’ll be a great help as we’re working on some client stuff using it at the moment.
Congrats on the speaking position too!

Wow – nice to know some people still read
@Ciaran – I write unique snippets on my homepage rather than publish partial entries. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
@Tom – thanks for the comment! I’ve been meaning to stick up a blog post about the tool in it’s working form. There are some quirks that you only realise after it kicks in.
Thanks guys for dropping by

Yep – Still here too Richard! Just keep plugging. Incidently how are you monitoring your subscribers? It is clearly inaccurate. ;o)

Hi Paul
Good to her you’re alive as well
I generally don’t track my subs. I’ve also given up watching my stats, apart from when I’m checking out Microsoft Gateneau, which I’m running on this site under their testing program.

Hi Richard, I still pop in too!
You’re obviously soooooo busy workwise that you don’t have time to update as frequently, and you’ve built up such a reputation that you don’t have to
Comment by Martina — February 8, 2008 @ 2:32 pm
Hi Martina
Not too sure about reputation… but thanks for fanning my ego I’ll admit the work one though – almost becoming over-whelming at this stage
Hope all is well with you and Activate,
Rgds

How are you finding Gateneau compared to Analytics Richard? Any positive / negative input..or is it all a bit hush hush. There are a few murmers around the blogging community. There’s gotta be a blog post in there somewhere..
Comment by Paul — February 8, 2008 @ 4:10 pm
I’d knew you would be back. Guessed things have been really busy on your side.
Welcome back.

@Paul – my lips are sealed, sorry. MS NDA is a scary thing I can tell you…
@Gavin – I presume you’ll be attending tomorrow evening? Look forward to meeting you again for a bit of a laugh. Good to hear from you again.

Hi Richard,
Well I thought I was going to be #4 when I first read your post, but clearly you’ve more RSS buddies that you know! You posts continue to be engaging and are one of a very, very small number I feed to my desktop gadget! Well done all round & kind regards.

Hi John
Good to hear from you again. Thanks for the kind words. In fairness I did got and check my feed numbers and there seems to be a couple of hundred folk who tune in. That in itself is actually very flattering.
Hope all is well, and best rgds
Richard

At least we won’t clash if we end up sitting together at the Blog Awards, but we may end up looking like a Mayo strip.
