I suspect we saw a Pengiun-related update going out last week, but I'm really stunned to see a site with zero "link building" lose about 40% organic Google referrals. Very weird indeed, and need to take a look at a larger set of affected sites.
Anyone care to share sites affected this past week (not Panda update please)?

I have experienced a pretty disappointing shift in results. Link spam beats organic. Not the best algo tweak.

That's disappointing. 40% is a lot. And there were no server issues?

Nah no server problems. Fairly sure this is one of their animal variants. But at least it's not 80%+ add happened with original penguin top many sites.

I see many sites who do little or no link building actually rise, only because their competitors who have done a ton of spammy link building over the years have recently tanked, specifically for their trophy keywords
