Funny – I was going to say that Michele is the man to ask on this Frank.

The hyphenated domains aren’t so prominent as they were associated with spammers. More than one or two hyphens seems to send a strong negative signal to the search engines.

I think you’ll have a hard time finding domains with more than a single hyphen in SERPs.

Frank – listing domains for sale varies from auction to auction, but Afternic / BuyDomains and Sedo accept listings all the time. Others, such as Moniker hold several big auctions throughout the year with smaller auctions / sales ongoing.

Interesting that none of the domains mentioned are hyphenated, despite Google liking such domains…

How do you actually list a domain for auction… that site is quite hard to navigate around…

Anyone actually sold any domains for interesting sums of money lately?

I must have a few worth a couple of grand if dublinireland.com is anything to go by. Although I plan to develop them as they are worth more.

The ex-boss has a couple of hundred nice domains, ones that he snapped up over 7 years. Some are worth a gold mine.

I was thinking more along the lines of his large DB of Irish hosted sites – there’s got to a few hidden gems in there. I’m sure he’s got a few of his own also though.

A good domain name is worth its weight in gold.

John has some very nice domains that he’s been sitting on for years, though I wouldn’t be overly interested in **ireland** domains – it’s too restrictive in terms of market

I certainly don’t know enough to put valuations on domains, but I reckon some of those prices are very rich. Of course if run well I’m sure the returns could be equally good.

Nice if you have a few old domains from yonks ago that cost you nothing more than the renewals…

What do you reckon – there must be a few Irish folk holding onto very valuable domains without realising at all? I’m thinking some of those real old school types that haven’t updated their sites in 6 or 7 years. I’m sure JMCC must know one or two from his crawling travels.

I was following the auction closely last night as a number of my friends had domains listed or were bidding on lots

Some very tasty domains are still up for grabs for less than their real value!
